I wanted to share a little home-remedy I’ve been working on lately — something gentle, affordable, and rooted in natural wellness. It’s just whole cloves steeped in fragrance-free baby oil, and the result is a soothing, aromatic oil that’s surprisingly versatile. Whether I use it to ease muscle tension, give myself a calming massage, or even add a drop to a bug-bite, it feels like a little gift from nature.
Here’s how I make it: I take a clean, dry glass jar and gently place about 10–12 whole clove buds inside. Then I pour in baby oil until the cloves are fully covered, making sure everything is submerged. I seal the jar and keep it in a warm, sunny corner for around 5 to 7 days, giving it a gentle shake every day to help the infusion. After that, I strain out the cloves and pour the oil into a clean container for daily use.
Over time, this infused oil takes on the warm, spicy essence of clove. Cloves are known for their natural pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties, thanks to a compound called eugenol. When used carefully (always start with a patch test!), it can soothe sore muscles, calm tension, and even help with mosquito-prone moments. Some folks also find that its gentle warmth supports skin health or circulation when massaged in.
I share this in the spirit of simple, heart-centered wellness — not as a cure-all, but as a lovely, everyday ritual. If you decide to try it, just remember to go slow, trust your body, and check in with a health professional if you’re unsure. Nature gives us so many gentle tools; this is one of my favorites.
